Child Safety Standards

Last updated: 17 August 2026

UniBae is a dating platform strictly for adults aged 18 and over. These standards explain how we prevent minors from accessing the service and how we respond to child-safety concerns.

1. 18+ only

  • All users must confirm their date of birth during onboarding; anyone under 18 cannot proceed.
  • Age is re-checked server-side before any dating action (liking, matching or messaging) is allowed.
  • Profiles indicating an age under 18 are not shown in discovery and cannot interact.

2. Student verification

Access requires verification as a genuine university student, via a university email one-time code and/or a student ID document reviewed by our moderators. This adds a further barrier to underage access.

3. Prohibited content

Child sexual abuse and exploitation, and any sexual content involving minors, are absolutely prohibited. We do not allow sexually explicit content on UniBae at all.

4. Reporting child-safety concerns

  • Users can report any profile, photo or message, including an "Underage concern" category.
  • Reports involving potential child exploitation or abuse are treated as the highest priority.
  • Where we identify potential child exploitation or abuse, we may remove the content, ban the account, and report it to the appropriate authorities, including law enforcement.

5. Moderation

Reports are reviewed by trained moderators. We keep audit logs of moderation actions. We do not rely solely on automated moderation for child-safety decisions.

6. How to report a concern

Use the report option on any profile, photo or message in the app, or contact us through the app. If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
